Week Recap
This week, we hosted a small but adventurous group, including four American anglers, two Canadians, and a wildlife photographer. This intimate setting allowed everyone to fully immerse themselves in the Amazonian experience, where every moment revealed the untamed allure of the Pirarucu Reserve. From the thrill of the catch to the breathtaking wildlife encounters, the week offered a balance of exhilarating fishing and unforgettable time spent in one of the world’s most unique ecosystems.
Fishing Highlights
Tambaqui: Known for their incredible strength, the tambaqui offered unforgettable battles that challenged our anglers’ persistence and skill.
Arapaima: A remarkable week for arapaima, with 16 landed in total, including a massive 235 cm (7.7 feet) specimen—a true Amazonian monster.
Aruanas: Over 60 aruanas were caught, adding an active, exciting element to each day on the water.
This week was especially historic, as for the first time in our ten-year history, we landed a double of monster-sized arapaima—an astonishing 220 cm (7.2 feet) and 190 cm (6.2 feet) side by side. These remarkable captures left both anglers and guides in awe, capturing the essence of what makes Pirarucu Lodge a premier destination for trophy fishing.
