Weather Conditions:
This week brought the best of Amazonian sunshine, with clear skies and temperatures averaging 30°C (86°F). Apart from one brief rain shower, the weather remained nearly perfect for the angling experience. The sun’s warmth set the stage for another incredible week at Pirarucu, where the world’s largest arapaimas roam.
River Conditions:
Water Level: The water levels reached an astonishingly low point—historically the lowest in the past 50 years. This unique condition made for challenging but rewarding fishing, revealing hidden areas of the reserve and concentrating the fish in tighter spaces.
Water Color: Slightly murky, which heightened the anticipation as anglers worked their strategies in pursuit of their next giant.
