REPORT
Week 2 brought an intimate group of 4 dedicated anglers, on a combo trip with the Rio Marié, and they didn’t hold back. The water might have been low, but the fishing was on fire. Our sharp-eyed guest Rachel put on a clinic, landing an absolute beast at 1.74 meters—what a catch! Congrats on that trophy fish, Rachel, a job well done.

Our good friends Tom and John showed why Pirarucu is the arapaima mecca, landing 13 fish in just four days of hard, focused fishing. Their success proves why these waters are renowned for delivering the ultimate fly fishing experience.

But the highlight of the week? Untamed Brazil CEO Rodrigo Salles dropped in for just one day on the water… and as always, he delivered. In typical legendary fashion, Rodrigo reeled in a 2.10-meter (estimated 300-pound) monster arapaima in shallow water using a floating line! Known for his jungle angling skills, some whisper he’s struck a deal with the Curupira. Who knows? But the results speak for themselves

WEEK STATS

  • Total number of fish landed: 15
  • Biggest fish: 2.10 meters

HIGHLIGHTS
Rachel’s spectacular 1.74-meter arapaima.
A heartbreaker for Ray, who lost what was easily a 2+ meter fish right at the boat. So close, but that’s the nature of the game out here!

We still have a few open spots this season—come see why Pirarucu is the ultimate destination for giant arapaima.
